    There are 100 different types of fish you can find in the surrounding waters. Each fish is a member of 4 different tiers that are all worth a different amount of money when sold to the Fishmonger. Those tiers are Common, Rare, Exotic and Legendary. Fishing Contest The fishing contest is automatically ran 6 different times every day and lasts for 5 minutes. To win the contest you must catch the most fish within that time. The top 5 players at the end of the round will be rewarded with a set amount of emeralds that can be spent at the NPC shops.

    The brewing process is more difficult and time consuming compared to regular potion infusing. If you want to master the art of brewing then read about the process below and purchase the Brewery Book from the Infuser to learn all the recipes. Fermenting Step one consists of Fermenting the fresh Ingredients. Place Cauldron over a Fire Fill it with water Add Ingredients with a right-click Wait while they Ferment Fill in glass bottles Use a clock on a cauldron, if you want to know the time the ingredients have been fermenting. Distilling Put the bottle with ferment into the brewing stand Put glowstone dust as filter on top into the brewing stand (The filter will not be consumed) Aging A barrel is needed for aging. It can be build in two ways: Small Barrel Use 8 wooden stairs to build a barrel shape. Place a sign on the lower right side and write "Barrel" in the upper line. Message "Barrel created" should appear. Big Barrel Use 5 fences, 16 wooden stairs, and 18 wood planks to build a barrel shape. Attach a spigot (fence) and a sign that has "Barrel" written on the first Line. Message "Barrel created" should appear. You may remove the sign from the big barrel after creating it. The small Barrel is opened with a right click on the sign, the big barrel with a right click on the spigot (fence). Put the bottles into the barrels for aging. Depending on the recipe, the type of wood used may alter the quality of the aged brew. The barrel should not be destroyed while aging, as it would leak after a short while. When breaking the spigot, everything inside will be spit out. Drinking The amount of alcohol inside the brew will be applied to the player when drinking. Depending on the quality of it, that may have different effects. The player may not be able to walk normally anymore, they will weave, making it almost impossible to walk straight Effects like blindness, confusion, poison etc. occur The chat will be altered depending on drunkenness, many things players write may be incomprehensible, sometimes it seems senseless If the alcohol is particularly strong, it may have poisonous effects After drinking a lot, there is a chance of vomiting When logging off, the player may have difficulties reaching his character, thus some logins shortly after may be denied After over-drinking the player may faint (aka disconnect). Getting Sober After drinking it takes a while until the alcohol is completely gone. During that time the alcohol level is steadily decreasing. Also it can be decreased through consuming of items defined in the config. When logging off extremely drunk, it may happen that, if the player logs back in after a while, they may find himself at a completely unknown place in the middle of nowhere having no idea how he got there. But if they log back in after some hours or next morning, they will find himself at /home, again without any memories. Also if the alcohol was not of best quality, the player may face some bad type of hangover (slowness and hunger).

    The economy is a huge part of Flotsam Isles and being strategic about how your earn guarantees a better experience for you in the end. Just about everything you do will influence you earnings from what race you choose to what professions you focus on and how much you participate in certain events. Auctions - Player ran buying, selling and bidding. Lottery - Automatically ran lottery tickets and rewards. Trading - Safe player to player trading system. Currencies There are 3 different types of currencies that each are earned and used in different ways. Though you could survive without using any at all its highly recommend to be savvy about earning all 3 types. Money - Earned through through professions and can be used in all player auctions, trading and lottery. Emeralds - Earned by voting, crate rewards and fishing contest rewards and can be used for NPC trading. Nuggets - Earned by competing in the mob arena and can be used on arena upgrades and the arena reward shop. Professions There are 7 different professions that all players are automatically employed to upon joining the server. Performing actions in these professions reward you with money you can use for all player economy interactions. The professions are: Blacksmithing - Earn by crafting and repairing tools and armor. Cultivating - Earn by working with crops and animals. Enchanting - Earn by enchanting tools and armor. Fishing - Earn by fishing fish and treasures. Hunting - Earn by killing aggressive mobs. Infusing - Earn by brewing magical potions. Provisioning - Earn by cooking delicious foods.

    Your island is your own little pile of debris and expanding it should be your main focus. When you first start your island you will gain access to a list of island challenges that will reward you with items upon completing them. You will also find a small chest full of items to help you get started on the first few challenges. Settings If you would like to customize your island settings there is a handy GUI that makes that easy. Within this GUI you can toggle certain flags on/off to your likely. By default all the flags the make your island safe are toggled on. Teams If you prefer to play with friends you can invite up to 3 other players to your island or join another players island. The original creator of the island is the owner of that island and thus has the final say on all the island settings and has the power to kick any player off the island. If you leave the island you keep your money and inventory. If you are kicked off the island you keep your money but lose your inventory.

    There are 7 playable races to choose from that each come with their own unique perk and set of skills & professions they are adept in. Catfolk Already few in number, the lithe and inquisitive Catfolk enjoyed a pure, organic existence in their jungle homeland. Before the recent troubles, they lived lives of relative leisure, passing a sleepy afternoon with some lazy fishing, playfully stalking some hapless creature from high in the jungle canopy, or enjoying the effects of produce grown in their tropical fields of psychoactive plants. Now though, the great jungles have all but shriveled and rotted away under the onslaught of acid rain that falls in torrents during the rainy season. Through no fault of their own, they find themselves unable to rely on nature in the way they once did, and have adapted by taking a more active role in producing food and handling animals. They'll need all their grace and cunning to survive and endure the trials to come, but they don't seem particularly worried about it. Infinite Perk: Speed Adept Skills: Acrobatics & Taming Adept Professions: Cultivating +15% & Fishing +5% Dhampir The secretive Dhampir were one of the few races that had some forewarning about the calamitous events that sundered the old kingdoms. Wisdom born of ages spent in hiding among the mortal races has served the Dhampir well in recent times. While many of their favored hideouts have been swallowed into the crumbling earth, or submerged beneath the rising ooze, they inhabit many of the finer ruins still above ground. There they tend to the fading coals of the great sciences that once illuminated so much of the old world. It is rumored that without their delicate constructs and potent alchemy, many would have long since passed into madness over the years, or given in to their more primal urges and dark hunger. Night Perk: Night Vision Adept Skills: Swords & Alchemy Adept Professions: Infusing +15% & Hunting +5% Dwarf The cavernous depths beneath this world were carved and quarried, stone by stone, over thousands of years, by the Dwarves. The loss of that homeland, drowned and dissolved in the acidic blood of a dead monster, has all but broken the spirits of the proud, stoic Dwarven race. Without the great carvings and reliefs, that gloriously detailed the lives of their ancestors and long adorned the halls of their cities, the Dwarves feel as though they are losing their identity, and even their memories. Even still, their gifts with the working of stone have not abandoned them, and new mines are being dug already, guided by the wisdom and strength of Dwarven hearts and hands, as if grasping back into the earth, toward their ancestral home. Day Perk: Efficiency Adept Skills: Mining & Excavation Adept Professions: Blacksmithing +15% & Enchanting +5% Elf If any race has struggled to find a purpose in this new world, it is the elves. Being born an elf, high in the ancient boughs of a towering forest city, was once akin to being born having already lived a thousand lives. But now, stripped of their nobility and cast into a hostile, godless wasteland, many elves have taken on a decidedly gloomy effect. Their keen senses overwhelmed by the stench of the old world's corpse, they have grown jaded and sarcastic. Often encountered in the wilder, more dangerous parts of the world, the elves are a reckless, feral shadow of their former selves. They seem to be daring this world to finish them off, and regularly risk their lives hunting the abominations found in the furthest reaches of the wastes. As such, they can be reluctant, even obnoxious, allies, but can also be fiercely loyal to any who earn their trust. Day Perk: Increase Damage Adept Skills: Archery & Repair Adept Professions: Hunting +15% & Provisioning +5% Human Always industrious, the expansive, haphazard cities of the human race were completely unprepared for, and devastated by, the violent quakes of 200 years ago. The loss of life and culture was incalculable. However, the notoriously short memories and adaptable nature of the humans have allowed them to bounce back, perhaps better than any other race. Already their efforts to re-clear, settle and farm in among the remains of the past outstrip those of the other, shall we say, "moodier" races. Quick to make friends and generous with their drinks, something about a human's relatively short lifespan seems to prevent them from dwelling too much on the past, preferring to get on with the challenges of today. As an old human saying goes: The seeds of tomorrow's fortune are sown in times of sorrow. Night Perk: Saturation Adept Skills: Axes & Woodcutting Adept Professions: Provisioning +15% & Cultivating +5% Kitsune The clever, enigmatic and fox-like Kitsune remain something of an oddity among the races. Shy and exchanging few words, they rarely entering villages by day, but their diminutive forms can sometimes be glimpsed scampering just out of sight along the outskirts of town. Before the collapse of civilization, the Kitsune were regarded as devious sprites, playful but with a twisted sense of humor, and not to be interacted with without an abundance of caution. Some of the most famous adventurers of the old world came from among the Kitsune and most vanished without a trace after their heroics. It seems whenever the world is in need of saving, some Kitsune will put down their tricks and games, and take up the world's woes with grim determination. Their skill with both blade and spell is legendary. Pushed into closer contact with the other races in recent years, some of their mystery is wearing off, but most folks still keep a close eye on the Kitsune whenever they appear. Day Perk: Jump Adept Skills: Herbalism & Swords Adept Professions: Enchanting +15% & Infusing +5% Nagaji One day is very much another to the Nagaji. Today it is sunny. Tomorrow the earth is shaking. And the day after that, the world is gone. A Nagaji wouldn't even blink. One could have watched the collapse of the civilized world, all the destruction, the pain, and horror, without a hint of emotion. The Nagaji have changed the least of any race still walking the world. Often found digging for heavy metals in the mountains, their diet consists mostly of fish, which despite the growing contamination, the Nagaji continue to eat even though the often putrid, unnatural flesh no longer nourishes as it once did. It would, however, be foolish to carelessly assume their depleted, sickly appearance of late indicates an underlying physical weakness. A Nagaji can still kill in the same effortless, detached way they did before the fall: with their bare claws. Day Perk: Damage Resistance Adept Skills: Unarmed & Fishing Adept Professions: Fishing +15% & Blacksmithing +5%

    A great calamity befell the civilized world some 200 years ago. Somewhere deep in the rocky caverns of the world, a great yawning mouth was opened. There, lit red by the shimmering magma, some profane ritual was performed by entities unknown that summoned forth a giant, writhing wyrm that began consuming the very foundations of the world and caused massive, endless quakes that toppled the great kingdoms of the past. After months of panic and confusion, the source of the land's torment was divined and a ragtag group was assembled. Many great minds and brave warriors had perished in the recent upheavals, but miraculously, a small team of unknown and ill-prepared adventurers was successful. Their descriptions and even their names remain shrouded by the urgency of that great moment. None ever made it back out alive to tell the tale in full, but after a particularly violent quake, the land suddenly, and finally, came to rest. Great relief followed, and even a period of rebuilding, but those aspirations were cut short. It all began in the seas, where a thick, gelatinous ooze began to wash ashore, dissolving whole sections of beach in its wake. The substance seemed to leak from the earth's very core, and it gradually turned the waters of this world a putrid green. The rains became agonizing showers of acid. It seemed that whatever otherworldly monstrosity, summoned to devour the earth, had in its death bestowed one final curse. The wyrm's blood was now a blight upon the land. Many creatures could not survive this new reality, but others were strangely changed and managed to survive in unexpected ways. The once noble races of the surface have each suffered mightily, and as one might expect, their stations in this world have suffered as well. They each fight to survive and do their best to adapt to the bizarre new order of things. Some even work together, crafting a new beginning and kindling hope for the future.

    Flotsam Isles is a survival island RPG in Minecraft. You start your journey by choosing from 1 of the 7 playable races. Each race has a unique perk and has skills & professions they are particularly adept in. Once you choose your race you will likely want to become familiar with Flotsam Tower and the surrounding docks, arenas and marketplace. After getting familiar it's time to start an island of your own or join another players island. If you choose to start you own island be sure to check them all out at The Gallery beforehand. Once you join or start an island your main goal is to expand the island and complete a list of challenges all while contending with the surrounding acid water and rain that can swiftly kill you. Ranks There are 9 in-game ranks you can earn by voting and play time. Each rank you earn unlocks a unique kit with helpful items that you can claim once every 24 hours. When you rank up your previous rank kit is no longer made available to you. Voting Earn emeralds and help out the server by voting for us. You can vote up to 6 times per day and be reward with emeralds and Vote Crate Keys. You can spend emeralds at any of the NPC shops found around spawn and you can use the Vote Crate Keys at the Voting Crate which will reward you with one of many different rewards. If you are lucky you'll score a Storm Crate Key which gives you an additional chance of earning an even better reward. Cosmetics All cosmetics are earned in game by randomly finding Mystery Crates. When you find a Mystery Crate you can open it inside the Mystery Vault at spawn. If you get rewarded with a cosmetic you already own you will get Mystery Dust which can be saved up to craft a cosmetic of your choice. Pets All pets can be purchased with emeralds from the Cultivated Pets store found at spawn. When obtaining a pet you can assign it a skill tree that can be leveled up to unlock special skills to aid you on your journey. By default all players can store up to 3 pets. To get more pet storage considering joining Flo Plus. PVP Arena The PVP arena is a barebones drop in and PVP arena. There are no rewards except the pride you get from slicing your peers into bits. Purge Every 6 months old player files are purged. This means if you have not logged in for a total of 6 months any data files attached specifically to you will be automatically deleted. This process can not be undone.
